Lew D. GUDKOV
Professor of Philosophy and
Sociology, Director of the Levada Center (Moscow) and Editor-in-chief of
the journal Russian Public Opinion Herald, one of the leading
Russian sociologists; participated in all research projects at VCIOM
during the period when the Centre was administrated by Yuri Levada, such
as ‘The Soviet Person from 1989 to 2003’; ‘Bureaucracy’; ‘Russian
Nationalism’; ‘Results of a Year: The Society from 1989 to 2003’.
Additionally he was a lecturer in sociology at the Russian State
University for the Humanities and at the Department of Political Science
at the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences. Current
research interests include theory and methodology of sociology;
bureaucratic state and intelligentsia; ethnonational relations and
social problems of the Post-Soviet society; political identity
building/disintegration; author of several books and articles:
