BRIEF ACADEMIC RESUMES OF THE CORE RESOURCE FACULTY


 

 

Boris V. DUBIN

 

Head of Department of Sociopolitical Researches at the Levada Center (Moscow). Additionally, he is a lecturer of sociology of culture at the Russian State University for the Humanities and the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences; translator for English, French, Spanish, Latin American and Polish literature; winner of different awards for his essays and translations. Current research interests include sociology of culture and semantic formations, media politics and politics in media, the European, mainly Central and East-European, intellectual history of the 20th century, communicative systems and structures of collective identity, modern cultural life and mass media in Russia. Recent publications include: War, the Authorities, and the New Administrators (2002); Intellektualnye gruppy i simvolicheskie formy: ocherki sociologii sovremennoy kultury (Intellectual Groups and Symbolic Forms: Essays on the Sociology of Modern Culture) (2004); The Oligarch as Public Enemy.
